Why Steel for Commercial Buildings?

BCA Classification for Commercial Sheds

Your shed’s Building Code of Australia (BCA) classification determines the fire, access, and structural requirements:

Classification affects fire rating, exit requirements, accessibility, energy efficiency, and amenities. We work with your building certifier to ensure the building meets all BCA requirements for its intended use.

Commercial Shed Cost Guide

Kit supply includes frame, cladding, doors, and engineering. Fit-out, concrete, services, and council fees are additional. Design your commercial building online or call us to discuss your project.

Commercial Shed FAQs

Do I need a commercial building certifier?

Yes. Commercial buildings require a private certifier or council building surveyor to issue a construction certificate and occupancy certificate. We provide the engineering; your certifier handles compliance assessment.

Can I lease out a steel shed as commercial premises?

Absolutely, many commercial shed buildings are purpose-built for lease. Multi-tenancy configurations with fire-rated dividing walls and separate access are common. The economics are attractive: lower build cost = faster return on investment.

What about insulation and energy compliance?

Commercial buildings in most states must meet Section J energy efficiency requirements under the BCA. This typically means insulated roof and walls, sealed construction, and energy-efficient lighting. We supply the building shell; your builder handles the Section J compliance during fit-out.
